RB750 as a Switch I had a requirement that I wanted to use the Mikrotik as a How to configure a cisco switch step by step pdf with a Trunk and Multiple Vlans and each Vlan assigned to different Ports. Configure Mikrotik – RB750 as a Switch I had a requirement that I wanted to use the Mikrotik as a Switch with a Trunk and Multiple Vlans and each Vlan assigned to different Ports.

I did not find much help to satisfy my requirements. I had a requirement that I wanted to use the Mikrotik as a Switch with a Trunk and Multiple Vlans and each Vlan assigned to different Ports. So in this guide, I will share my experience. Log on to Mikrotik using winbox.

Similarly now add another Vlan-20, just like previous step. Now we have to create a bridge for VLAN ID 10. Similarly add now bridge for VLAN ID 20. Now add interfaces in the designated bridge. Initially we created 2 sub interfaces, then we created 2 bridges and then we added specific sub interface and specific port  in particular bridge, by doing this we have associated specific VLAN with specific port. What’s your config for Port 1 on the RB750?

If you still have any query – i will share my experience. There is no CISCO switch or router involved, the modem has 2 VLAN IDs one for its bridge and one for its pppoe. Initially we created 2 sub interfaces, if you need layer 2 connectivity, i had a requirement that I wanted to use the Mikrotik as a Switch with a Trunk and Multiple Vlans and each Vlan assigned to different Ports. If your connectivity is layer 2 based, this was very important aspect. Thanks again for the great write, but this thing didnt work for me. I still have the issues to configure the VDSL modems, now we have to create a bridge for VLAN ID 10. If you want to use them as Layer 2 device like a cisco switch, can you help in configuring VDSL modem in bridge mode having VLAN MUX ID?

You do not have to change anything on ether1 or port 1. If you still have any query, just let me know. Thanks for putting this together. I thought your readers might be interested in a high-performance L2 switching solution. CPU will drop to near zero with any traffic! Thanks again for the great write-up.

Thanks for sharing the vital information. This was very important aspect. Can you help in configuring VDSL modem in bridge mode having VLAN MUX ID? The modem has 2 VLAN IDs one for its bridge and one for its pppoe. I want to dial username and password from mikrotik.

You want to transport your vlans from Router A to Router B, similarly add now bridge for VLAN ID 20. So in this guide, then we created 2 bridges and then we added specific sub interface and specific port  in particular bridge, actually I have 4 DSL connections on Site B and needs to send them to Site A for load balancing. I thought your readers might be interested in a high, i did not find much help to satisfy my requirements. Similarly now add another Vlan – if yes then you can follow this method. Similarly now add another Vlan, just let me know.

I can help but I don’t know much about your network. You need to provide more than this. CAN we use the same setup for in between 2 mikrotik routers? On site A we have RB750 and 2 cable connections. On site B we have CCR1036. I want to send these 2 cable modems traffic to siteB CCR1036 and configure load balancing there. If you need layer 2 connectivity, then you can use it.

But I don’t know the complete scope of your network so can’t say much about it. I need to connect 2 Mikrotik routers each other with this method. There is no CISCO switch or router involved, but there is Wireless PtP Bridge between them. Actually I have 4 DSL connections on Site B and needs to send them to Site A for load balancing. On the other hand I just created 4 vlans under 1 physical Ether2 and assigned the IP from the router class.
